Find out what you are actually throwing away
A waste audit tells you what is in your container, what it is costing you, and how much of it never needed to be there.
Most organisations are paying to landfill material that has resale or recycling value, and nobody has ever looked. Green Pine runs the audit, hands you the numbers and builds a plan around them.
Clients use the results to lower hauling costs, raise their diversion rate, and satisfy a reporting requirement from a landlord, a customer or a regulator. The audit is where every engagement starts, because you cannot improve a number nobody has taken.
Step one
Measure what is going out
Our team sorts a representative sample of your waste stream by hand, separates it by material type and weighs each category. You get a written report covering total audited weight, a breakdown by material, projected monthly and annual volumes, and your current diversion rate.
The audit shows you
- Which materials are worth capturing, and what recovering them is worth
- Which buildings, floors or departments generate the problem volume
- Where your current service is oversized, undersized or scheduled wrong
- What a realistic diversion target looks like for your operation
Build the reduction plan
The audit is the starting point, not the deliverable. From the results we write a plan aimed at specific, measurable reductions, with an emphasis on capturing every recyclable currently going into the landfill container.
Plans usually include
- A walkthrough to check bin placement, container sizing and signage
- Short training for staff and for the janitorial team, who handle most of it in practice
- Scheduled follow up inspections, so the programme does not quietly fall apart in month three
- Ongoing diversion reporting you can hand to leadership or an auditor
What you get
The audit report
Audited weight by material, projected monthly and annual volume, and the diversion rate you are running today.
The recycle profile
An assessment of the material you are not currently recycling, and what it would take to capture each stream.
A costed plan
Each recommendation with the saving attached to it, so you can approve the ones that are worth doing and leave the rest.
