We bid your service out, read the terms properly and negotiate on your behalf. You can keep your current hauler and still pay less.
Waste agreements are written to renew themselves
A standard hauling agreement runs for three to five years, renews automatically unless you cancel inside a narrow window, and allows the rate to be raised at the vendor’s discretion. Most of the businesses we talk to have been rolling over the same contract for a decade without anyone reading it.
We run the process the way a procurement team would: a proper specification, a competitive bid across the haulers serving your area, and a negotiation on the terms rather than only the headline rate. Because we are buying for a book of clients rather than one site, the pricing we get back is usually better than a single location can reach on its own.
Terms we push on
- A cap on how far and how often the rate can move
- Surcharges fixed or capped rather than floating as a percentage
- A shorter term, or a renewal that does not roll over silently
- A realistic cancellation window with a reminder you will actually see
- Liquidated damages reduced or removed
- The right to adjust service levels as the site changes
What it does not involve
- Being forced to change hauler. If yours is doing a good job we negotiate with them.
- Breaking a live agreement. We work with the term you are in and prepare for the renewal.
- Your team running the process. We handle the bid, the paperwork and the transition.
- A drop in service level. The specification we bid is the service you have now, or better.
Already in a contract?
That is the normal starting point, and it does not stop us finding savings. Container sizing, pickup frequency and billing errors can all be corrected inside an existing term. We diary the cancellation window so the renewal does not happen to you a second time.
